Valentine Hearts Project
I used a Valentine Hearts Project I borrowed from Laura Candler. My students had to estimate and then meausre the weight and the number of candies in ten boxes of Valentine heart candies.
They found the range, mode, median, and mean of their results. Using their results, they then had to estimate the weight and number of candies in an eleventh box.

The week before the Super Bowl, my math classes completed a project which included computer research, solving math problems based on the game, playing paper football, and making snack mixes. Enjoy the video.

Hail to Our New President
We watched history being made on January 20, 2009. My students enjoyed watching Barack Obama being sworn in as our 44th president. After watching the inauguration, my students wrote about it. Their papers can be read under the comments.
